Sprint Distance

The second competition of the World Championships in MTB Orienteering was held in Turnov with the centre on Ludvik Daněk athletics stadium. Luca Dallavalle (M21), Martina Tichovská (W21),Robinson Angus (M20) and Veronika Kubínová (W20) became the World champions.

The collection of Czech medals has after yesterday’s middle distance extended of three medals. In addition to the gold medals of Martina Tichovská and Veronika Kubínová Vojtěch Stranský won the silver medal.

World Championships continues after Thursday’s day off on Friday with the Long Distance with its center in Vesec (Liberec).

Middle Distance

Middle Distance

The first race of the World Championships in MTB Orienteering race on the middle distance had its center in Jablonec nad Nisou on the biathlon stadium.

The Czech team has won three medals. Martina Tichovská gained the silver medal among women, in the men category won the bronze medal Marek Pospíšek. Václav Šňupárek added a third medal among juniors.

Gaelle Barlet (FRA) became the World champion; third place was gained by Emily Benham (GBR) thanks to really fast last part of the competition.

The male race was won by Russian Anton Foliforov, who overtook the second Italian Luca Dallavalleho, who lost the first place because of the defect of the rear wheel.
